Epic Exercise Bikes – A Joy to Work Out On

Epic Logo

The exciting line of Epic exercise bikes is designed for users who are committed to daily exercise and getting in shape, and who are willing to spend a little more for better quality.

About the Company

Epic is not the best known brand from global fitness equipment giant, Icon Health & Fitness, but they make several superior products including indoor bikes, elliptical trainers, and treadmills. The other brands from Icon include Proform, HealthRider, Image, FreeMotion, NordicTrack, Reebok, and Weslo, and Epic shares many of the same exclusive features on their equipment such as the interactive iFit Live technology that works with Google Street View maps and offers new programs by pro trainers like Jillian Michaels.

While Epic equipment can be difficult to find online, you should be able to find them in stock at Dick’s Sporting Goods stores in North America.

A Look at the Models

Epic Exercise Bikes

UPDATE:  Epic is no longer in business.  Take a look at their sister companies NordicTrack and ProForm for similar high-quality exercise bikes.

Epic exercise bikes are built on steel frames and feature Silent Magnetic Resistance systems with heavy flywheels, plus cushioned seats, oversized pedals with straps, 4" cooling fans, and heart rate monitoring.

Loaded with entertainment to make your workout a pleasurable experience, each bike is equipped with an iPod®-compatible plug-in and two 2" speakers on the console.

Currently, the company has two bikes:

The Epic A17U exercise bike is a solid upright model with 22 workout apps, a 275-lb user weight capacity, and built-in wireless technology on the console.

The Epic A17R exercise bike is a recumbent model that sports a step-through frame design, an oversized EnergyReturn cushioned chair with an easy glide seat adjustment, and Quick-touch controls for the 24 digital resistance settings.

The bikes are backed with a lifetime warranty on the frame and brake, and a one-year warranty for parts and labor.

What We Say

These Epic exercise bikes are an exciting addition to the line of fitness equipment offered by this company. Quiet and smooth, these bikes are not only pleasing to the eye; they are a joy to work out on. They have low maintenance thanks to the magnetic resistance system and sealed bearings and stationary bikes don’t have the types of problems you get with treadmills and other more complex machines. Check out some reviews on Epic products and you’ll find that this mid-brand from Icon offers a better-than-average machine that is worth a look.

Epic Exercise Bike Model Reviews

Epic A17R Recumbent - The Epic A17R is designed to deliver a smooth and quiet ride plus offer a number of entertainment features.

Epic A17U Upright - A heavy 140-lb upright – which is another plus since many bikes at this price can weigh less than 90 pounds and tend to wobble under heavier users.
