The console will scan or hold for the desired readouts. The display is powered by 2 AA batteries (not included); an AC adapter is optional.

At 65" long, the Fitnex R50-S recumbent is larger than you might anticipate though the footprint adds to its great stability. It features a swing arm design for the console so you can move it out of the way for easy entry and exit, as well as have a better view of a TV across the room without having to look over or around the console.

You can use the exercise bike on a manual setting or choose programs that include interval, rolling, weight loss, racing, and heart rate control.

The Fitnex R50-S uses a friction-free flywheel with Magnet Arc Distancing, and an adjustable tension knob to control the electromagnetic resistance. The handlebars are ergonomically located at the sides of the oversized plush seat with lumbar support.

The weighted pedals have adjustable rubber straps for a secure fit. The pedal spacing is a comfortable 11 inches, and the user weight limit is 285 pounds.

Our Take

Solidly built, the Fitnex R50-S recumbent exercise bike is usually priced around $799 to $899, but the lowest price is usually found at Amazon for around $600, which is the price of the R40-S model.

This recumbent gets excellent reviews, with users remarking on the ease of use, simple seat adjustment, swivel console, virtually silent operation, and club quality feel. If you can get it on sale at $600 or less, you’ll get a great bike with great value.
