The Carbon CX is one of the newest residential exercise bikes from ProForm, an affordable option for those looking to enjoy in studio workouts from the privacy of their own home.

The CX is very similar to the other Studio Series bikes, although there are some minor differences.

The Buzz

The ProForm Carbon CX is a welcome addition to the Studio Series lineup, as it is a more affordable option that the other indoor cycles in the lineup.

At under $1000 when it's on sale, it's a great option for those who want to do on-demand studio classes without actually being in the gym.

The only real difference between the Carbon CX and the Studio Bike and Studio Bike Pro is the lack of touch screen display. Other than that, the bike itself is essentially the same, besides some very minor differences.

It features high quality steel construction, with ergonomic seat and handlebars that can be fully adjusted for the ideal fit. There's an inertia-enhanced flywheel for smooth, natural motion, and toe cages are optional for those who prefer an outdoor riding experience.

The highlight of the ProForm Carbon CX is definitely iFit, which you can tap into using your smart phone or tablet. Here you will find unlimited workout programs, in studio classes with trainers around the world, Google map exotic locations, nutrition and sleep recommendations and so much more.

Although iFit does require a nominal membership fee, as of the writing of this review ProForm was offering a free year of iFit, which is great for those who want to see what it's all about without paying to try it.

Some of the extras include a water bottle holder, not found on the other Studio Series bikes, front mounted transport wheels and adjustable leveling feet for secure footing.

The Carbon CX comes with 2 3-lb dumbbells for an upper body workout, which are great to use on and off the bike to tone up the biceps, triceps and shoulders.

All in all the ProForm Carbon CX is a great indoor cycle for home use, with plenty of features to keep you motivated to reach your fitness goals.

Our Take on the Carbon CX

If you're looking for a solid home exercise bike like you'd find at the gym, but don't want to pay a ton of money, the ProForm Carbon CX might be the perfect solution for you.

It has solid construction, plenty of adjustability, 16 different resistance levels to choose from and iFit connectivity. It's compact so it will fit into any gym space, and can easily be transported with the front mounted wheels.
