The Weslo Pro 11.0x recumbent exercise bike is one of the better models the company produces. It has a number of cool features, including a compatible music port for an iPod, as well as digital magnetic resistance, and 10 workout programs.

The Bike

The large and easy-to-read LCD window displays speed, time, distance, and calories burned. The console also has an adjustable workout fan, a Target Pacer indicator light that shows you if you need to slow down or speed up to stay in your workout zone, and a readout for your heart rate.

The Weslo Pro 11.0x recumbent exercise bike features a quiet and frictionless magnetic resistance drive that offers 12 adjustable levels of tension. The ten pre-set programs offer a variety of workouts to overcome boredom in daily rides as the bike automatically adjusts the resistance for you.

Other features of the Weslo Pro 11.0x include a built-in sound system with a plug-in port for an iPod or any MP3 player, console speakers, a sturdy easy-mount frame, side handrails, and an oversized seat.

The only real criticism that users have mentioned in reviews is that the seat post adjustment occasionally fails which makes the seat slide to the bottom. One user mentioned he actually drilled a hole and put a pin in to lock the seat in place. Why didn’t Weslo think of that?

Our Take

Other than the seat post issue, the Weslo Pro 11.0x recumbent is a fairly value-driven product. The exercise bike is durable for users weighing up to 250 pounds, yet nimble enough to move out of the way on its transport wheels when not in use.

The heart rate readouts can be a bit doggy but most budget cardio products arrive with cheap parts installed in the heart rate sensor system, so don’t expect a lot there.

The warranty is weak, probably the worst in the industry, but if you really can’t step up in price to the $250 Schwinn recumbent, the Weslo Pro 11.0x recumbent exercise bike is $179 is about average for quality.

There are a number of good cheap recumbent bikes that sell at this price level, so do check for better warranties (and seat designs!) on those before you pull the trigger and buy this one.
